AFU repel 62 attacks, and hit enemy's artillery unit – General Staff

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) repelled 62 Russian attacks in five directions and hit the enemy's artillery unit in a firing position.

This follows from a statement by the General Staff in the AFU.

The enemy focuses on offensive actions in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka, and Mariyinka areas. The fiercest battles continue for Bakhmut, Avdiyivka, and Mariyinka. Thanks to professional and coordinated actions, during the past day, units in the AFU repelled 62 enemy attacks in the indicated directions.

On March 27, the enemy conducted 24 air and 12 missile strikes and conducted 55 attacks using MLRSes.

Also, on March 27, due to a rocket attack on the infrastructure in Sloviyansk, Donetsk Region, civilians were injured, and some were killed. High-rise buildings and private houses were damaged.

In addition, in the city of Berislav in the Kherson Region, a civilian object was damaged by an enemy airstrike.

The headquarters informs that during the past day, the enemy has shelled the areas of Bleshnya settlements in the Chernihiv Region; Baranivka, Tovstodubovo, Studenok, Golyshivske, Stukalyvka, Volfine, Turya, Maiske, Mezenivka, and Popivka in the Sumy Region, as well as the districts of settlements in the Kharkiv Region; Tymofiyivka, Krasne, Ustinivka, and Chorne.

In the Kupiyansk and Lyman directions, during the past day, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the areas of Krokhmalne, Kreminna, Kuzmyne, Bilohorivka, Verkhniokamiyanske, and Berestov settlements.

He carried out artillery shelling in the areas of Kamiyanka, Kolodiazne, Krasne Pershe, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, and Kupiyansk settlements in the Kharkiv Region; Stelmakhivka, Novoselivske, Nevske, and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk Region, as well as Terny, Siversk, Spirne, and Vyimka in the Donetsk Region.

In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy continues its assault on the city of Bakhmut, which is held by our defenders and in the areas of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, and Ozarianivka settlements. Fired at Vasiukivka, Hryhorivka, Minkivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkovo, Bakhmut, Predtechyne, Kurdiumivka, Ozarianivka, Druzhba, and Mayorsk in the Donetsk Region.

In the Avdiyivka and Mariyinka directions, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives in the direction of the settlements of Stepove, Avdiyivka, Sieverne, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, and Mariyinka. It used non-lethal aerosol "tear gas" grenades in Novokalynove, Lastochkine, Pervomaiske, and Mariyinka settlements. Fired more than ten settlements. Among them are Novokalynove, Krasnohorivka, Stepove, Avdiyivka, Tonenke, Sieverne, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Mariyinka, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk Region.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, during the past day, the enemy shelled the areas of Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Velyka Novosilka, and Vremivka settlements in the Donetsk Region.

The enemy is staying in defense in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions. It shelled the settlements of Vilne Pole, Novosilka, and Novopil in the Donetsk Region; Poltavka, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Bilohoriya, and Novodanylivka in the Zaporizhia Region, and Kherson, Kozatske, and Antonivka.

On March 27, the AFU Air Force carried out nine strikes on areas where the occupying personnel was concentrated and one strike on an anti-aircraft missile complex. Also, during the past day, defenders shot down five enemy reconnaissance UAVs of various types.

Meanwhile, units of rocket forces and artillery hit three control points, as well as the area of concentration of enemy manpower, an artillery unit in a firing position, an ammunition warehouse, a fuel and lubricant warehouse, and two more critical targets in the occupiers.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the enemy is storming Bohdanivka and Ivanivske near Bakhmut.

Ukrainian defenders also hold positions in the areas of Orikhovo-Vasylivka and Ozarianivka settlements.

Overnight into Wednesday, March 28, the Russian Army conducted 15 Shahed-136 type attack UAVs over the territory of Ukraine. Air defense forces destroyed fourteen of them.
