Slovak Defense Minister Jaroslav Nagy said that Poland has agreed to the joint transfer of MiG-29s to Ukraine and it is time for the Slovak government to make a decision on this issue.
The minister wrote about this on Facebook.
"I confirm that Poland has officially agreed to jointly send MiG-29s. At the meeting of defense ministers of the EU member states on Wednesday in Sweden, the Polish colleague confirmed that his country will agree to the joint progress of Slovakia and Poland in transferring to Ukraine the surplus MiG-29s of both countries," Nagy wrote.
He also noted that the Polish President confirmed his country's readiness to act in an interview with CNN.
"I think it's time to make a decision. People are dying in Ukraine, we can really help them, there is no place for Slovak politicization. This is inhumane and irresponsible," the Minister of Defense said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Slovakia is considering providing Ukraine with 10 of its 11 Soviet-made MiG-29 aircraft that were decommissioned last year.
Meanwhile, Reznikov is confident that Ukraine will receive several types of Western fighters.
