Poland Transfers 10 More Leopard 2 Tanks To Ukraine - Defense Minister

Poland transferred the remaining 10 of the 14 promised Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. The training of Ukrainian servicemen on these tanks was also completed in Poland.

This was stated at a briefing on Thursday by the Vice Prime Minister - Minister of National Defense of Poland, Mariusz Blaszczak, European Pravda writes.

"We support Ukraine within the international coalition. In addition to 14 Polish Leopard tanks, this battalion also includes 4 tanks from Canada, 8 tanks from Norway, and 6 from Spain," the Minister noted.

He added that he is negotiating with his Spanish colleague Margarita Robles regarding the possible provision of more tanks to Ukraine - "perhaps 4 more".

"So we are certainly dealing with a battalion of heavy tanks, which in the case of the Polish side have already been transferred, and in the case of our allies will be transferred to Ukraine in a very short time," he emphasized.

The Polish Minister of Defense also recalled the idea of creating a maintenance center for Leopard 2 tanks in Poland, which he is discussing with Germany.

"The problem is to provide spare parts for these tanks. 20 years ago, the production of these parts stopped, but we are ready to resume this production. Of course, in cooperation with the Germans, we are in dialogue that the Leopard tanks that have been or will be delivered to Ukraine, were serviced and repaired in Poland," Blaszczak explained.

It will be recalled that South Korea allowed Poland to export Krab self-propelled guns to Ukraine.
