Volume Of Private Remittances Down 14.4% To USD 1 Billion In January

In January, the volume of private remittances decreased by 14.4% to USD 1.0 billion.

This is evidenced by the data of the National Bank, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The salary that Ukrainians receive from abroad decreased by 28.5%, other private transfers received through official channels decreased by 11.1%.

In total, 19.9% fewer transfers were sent through official channels than in January last year, while the flow through informal channels decreased by 8.6% compared to January last year.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2021, the volume of remittances to Ukraine increased by 25.4% to USD 15.026 billion compared to 2020.

In 2020, the volume of remittances increased by 1.7% to a record USD 12.1 billion.
