IMF mission starts discussing potential program with Ukraine’s authorities

The mission of International Monetary Fund has started discussions with the authorities of Ukraine regarding the potential program.

This follows from a statement by the IMF, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"The IMF mission headed by Gavin Gray is starting discussions today with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities regarding a potential program that the IMF will support," said Vahram Stepanyan, the permanent resident representative of the IMF in Ukraine.

He did not specify other details.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Ukraine expects the IMF to launch a new multi-year program for over USD 15 billion.

On December 19, 2022, the IMF Board of Executive Directors discussed the monitoring program with Board Involvement for Ukraine, approved by the IMF management.
