Total State Debt Ups By 4.6% To USD 116.4 Billion In January

The aggregate state (direct and guaranteed) debt of Ukraine in January increased by 4.55% or USD 5.07 billion to USD 116.44 billion compared to the previous month.

This is stated in the data of the Ministry of Finance, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In 2022, the total state debt increased by USD 13.39 billion or 13.66% to USD 111.34 billion.

State and state-guaranteed debt at the end of January amounted to UAH 4,258.20 billion or USD 116.44 billion against UAH 4,072.85 billion or USD 111.38 billion a month earlier.

The total amount of direct state debt as of the reporting date was UAH 3,891.20 billion (USD 106.41 billion) against UAH 3,715.13 billion (USD 101.59 billion) a month earlier.

At the same time, the direct foreign debt increased from USD 63.59 billion to USD 67.56 billion for the month.

Direct domestic debt increased in hryvnia equivalent from UAH 1,389.69 billion to UAH 1,420.46 billion (in dollar terms it increased from USD 38.00 billion to USD 38.84 billion).

The state-guaranteed debt as of the end of the reporting month amounted to UAH 367 billion or USD 10.04 billion.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2021, the state debt increased by 8.52% or USD 7.69 billion to USD 97.95 billion.
In 2020, the total national debt increased by 6.9% from USD 84.4 billion to USD 90.3 billion.
In 2019, the state and state-guaranteed debt increased by USD 6.05 billion, and in hryvnia equivalent decreased by UAH 170 billion.
