Finance Ministry Sells Government Bonds For UAH 40.7 Billion, USD 40 Million And EUR 29 Million In January

In January 2023, the Ministry of Finance attracted UAH 40.7 billion, USD 40 million and EUR 29 million to the state budget through the placement of government domestic loan bonds.

This is evidenced by NBU data, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In January, the Ministry of Finance placed UAH 40.744 billion worth of hryvnia government bonds, which is by 495.8% more than in the same period last year.

Papers for USD 40 million and EUR 29 million were also placed, which is by 72% less and by 25.8% more than in January 2022, respectively.

The weighted average return on hryvnia securities was 18.6% per annum, in dollars - 4.3% per annum (+0.3 percentage point), in euros - 3% per annum (+0.3 percentage point).

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2022, the Ministry of Finance attracted UAH 164.4 billion, USD 2,089 million, and EUR 984 million to the state budget through the placement of domestic state loan bonds.

In 2021, the Ministry of Finance attracted UAH 287.9 ​​billion, USD 3,096 million and EUR 783 million to the state budget through the placement of government domestic loan bonds.

In 2020, the Ministry of Finance attracted UAH 258.8 billion, USD 3.9 billion and EUR 845 million to the state budget through the placement of government bonds.

In 2019, the Ministry of Finance attracted UAH 227.6 billion, USD 4.3 billion and EUR 387 million to the state budget due to the placement of government bonds.
