Foreign Ministry Criticizes Croatian President For His Statement About Crimea

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine considers unacceptable the statements of the President of Croatia, who stated that Crimea will allegedly never be Ukraine again.

This was stated by the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oleh Nikolenko on Facebook.

"I wonder if Zoran Milanovic would have been able to become the president of his country with such rhetoric in the 1990s, when Croatia was struggling to preserve its statehood? Would his voters agree to turn a blind eye to the occupation of part of their country's territory? I doubt it. Let me remind you that through external aggression, Croatia could have lost a third of its lands. However, thanks to the heroic struggle, the Croats were able to protect the independence of their state," the spokesman said.

Nikolenko noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers the statements of the President of Croatia, who in fact questioned the territorial integrity of Ukraine, to be unacceptable.

"In return, we highly appreciate and thank the government of Croatia and the Croatian people for the unwavering support of Ukrainians in the fight against Russian aggression," added the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

We will remind you that in February 2022, the president of Croatia said that Britain was pitting Ukraine with Russia.
