6,000 Russian Military Staying In Belarus, Some Already Move To Luhansk Region - Intelligence

Almost 6,000 Russian soldiers are on the territory of Belarus, some of the Russian servicemen have already moved to the Luhansk Region.

This is stated in the message of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Today, on the territory of Belarus, the land component is 5,800 troops. The second mechanized division has now moved to the territory of Russia, including entering the territory of Ukraine. This is the Luhansk Region. Now there are units of the sixth division, units of the territorial forces for training. This is a completely different contingent that was at the beginning of the aggression. There is no powerful aviation component, despite the training, there is no powerful missile component, there are no airborne troops," said the representative of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Vadym Skibitskyi.

According to the representative of military intelligence, today on the territory of Belarus there is one Iskander division, anti-aircraft missile systems S-300, S-400 and three MIG-31 aircraft.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in early January, Skibitskyi said that Russia does not have enough troops for a new offensive into Ukraine from Belarus.

According to him, Belarus is likely to be used by the Russian Federation for the most part as a base for the reorganization of troops.
