In December, the monetary base, which includes cash in circulation outside banks, as well as banks' reserve money and other money, increased by 4.5% to UAH 798.537 billion, according to the latest data from the National Bank.
This is evidenced by the NBU data, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Over 2022, the monetary base grew by 19.6% from UAH 662.499 billion.
The money supply in December increased by 5.5% to UAH 2,506.598 billion, and over 2022 it grew by 21% from UAH 2,071.358 billion.
The volume of cash in circulation, according to the latest NBU data, in December increased by 3.8% to UAH 666.125 billion, and over 2022 it grew by 14.6% from UAH 581.011 billion.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2021, the monetary base grew by 11.2% from UAH 595.993 billion to UAH 662.499 billion.
In 2021, the money supply increased by 12% from UAH 1,850.014 billion to UAH 2,072.399 billion.
In 2020, the monetary base increased by 24.8% from UAH 477.491 billion to UAH 595.993 billion.
