The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) conducts counterintelligence (security) measures in the Pecherskyi District of Kyiv, in particular in the government quarter and in the surrounding territories.
The SSU press service has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The measures are carried out in cooperation between the SSU and the State Security Department of Ukraine, the National Police and the Military Law Enforcement Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"The goal is to check and strengthen counter-diversion protection of important state facilities, to improve the safety of persons for whom state protection is carried out. This is especially important in the context of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, which is trying to destabilize the situation in Ukraine in any way," the message says.
Thus, security forces, with the direct participation of representatives of the State Security Department, carry out: inspection of the territory and individual premises (apartments, offices, common areas of apartment buildings, public service institutions, etc.) to identify prohibited items; checking citizens who are on the territory of the government quarter (at the same time, regime measures in the Pecherskyi District will be strengthened).
It is indicated that security measures will take place taking into account the legal regime of martial law.
The SSU warned that during security measures, restrictions on passage through the streets of the capital, verification of citizens' documents, and inspection of cars are possible.
The Security Service asks citizens to understand the possible inconvenience and properly respond to the legal actions and requirements of law enforcement officers, to have identification documents with them, and to comply with the curfew regime.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the SSU detained in Kyiv a collaborator from the temporarily occupied Svatove, Luhansk Region, who helped the invaders rename the streets of the captured city.
