Ukraine Takes 24th Place In Worldsteel Rating By Volume Of Steel Production In 11M

Ukraine took 24th place in the rating of the international association Worldsteel in terms of steel production in January-November.

This is stated in the message of the Ukrmetalurgprom association of metallurgical enterprises, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to him, according to the results of production in January-November, Ukraine ranks 24th among 64 countries - producers of steel with a result of 6.157 million tons, which is 3.2 times lower than the indicator of January-November 2021.

The first place traditionally belongs to China: Chinese metallurgists smelted 935 million tons in 11 months, which is by 1.4% less than in the same period of 2021.

China's share in world steel production is 55.3%.

Second place belongs to India (production increased by 6% to 114.2 million tons), third place - to Japan (decrease by 6.9% to 82.3 million tons), fourth place - to the USA (decrease by 5.5% to 74.4 million tons), the fifth - to Russia (decreased by 7% to 65.9 million tons), the sixth - to South Korea (decreased by 6.1% to 60.6 million tons), the seventh - to Germany (decreased by 7.9% to 34.2 million tons), the eighth - to Turkey (decreased by 12.3% to 32.5 million tons), the ninth - to Brazil (decreased by 5.9% to 31.5 million tons), the tenth - to Iran (increased by 8.5% to 27.9 million tons).

World steel production in January-November amounted to 1,691 million tons, which is by 3.7% lower than in January-November 2021.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine took 23rd place in the rating of the international association Worldsteel in terms of steel production in January-October.

Ukraine took 14th place in the Worldsteel rating by the volume of steel production in 2021 with a result of 21.37 million tons, which is by 3.6% more than in 2020.
