Cabinet Extends COVID-19 Quarantine Until May 2023

The Cabinet of Ministers extended the quarantine to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus infection, as well as the state of emergency until April 30, 2023. The representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, reported this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"The state of emergency has been extended for the unified state system of civil protection throughout the territory of Ukraine until April 30, 2023. Quarantine has also been extended throughout the territory of Ukraine until April 30, 2023," he wrote.

Corresponding amendments were made to the Cabinet of Ministers’ order No. 338 of May 25, 2020 N 338 "On Transferring the Unified State Civil Protection System to Emergency Mode" and the Cabinet of Ministers’ order No. 1236 of December 9, 2020 "On Establishing Quarantine and Introducing Restrictive Anti-epidemic Measures to Prevent the spread of the acute respiratory disease COVID-19 caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus on the territory of Ukraine".

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in August, the Cabinet of Ministers extended the quarantine to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus infection, as well as the state of emergency until December 31, 2022.

In March, the Cabinet of Ministers canceled the establishment of quarantine zones depending on the epidemic situation in the regions, as well as the dismissal of unvaccinated workers for the period of martial law.

The Cabinet of Ministers introduced a quarantine to prevent the spread of the coronavirus from March 12, 2020.

Earlier, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction, head of the parliamentary committee on national health, medical care and medical insurance, Mykhailo Radutskyi said that quarantine measures will be canceled in Ukraine only after the World Health Organization reports on the end of the coronavirus pandemic.
