AFU repel 11 enemy attacks – General Staff

The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 11 enemy attacks and hit nine enemy control points on December 11.

This follows from a statement by the General Staff of the AFU posted on Facebook

Over the past day, units of the AFU have repelled attacks by occupiers in the areas of Stelmakhivka, Makiivka, and Serebrianka Forestry of Luhansk Region, and Verkhniokamiyanske, Bilohorivka, Soledar, Yuriyivka, Krasnohorivka, Mariyinka, Novomykhailivka, and Vremivka in the Donetsk Region.

The enemy conducted two missile strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the city of Kostiantynivka, Donetsk Region, 11 airstrikes on the positions of our troops along the contact line, and also launched more than 60 attacks from rocket salvo systems on the civilian infrastructure of the city of Kherson and the positions of our troops.

The General Staff stressed that there is still a threat of strikes using missiles and attack UAVs on the objects of the power grid and critical infrastructure throughout the territory of Ukraine.

In the Volyn and Polisskyi directions, the situation has not changed significantly, and no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups have been detected.

On the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the settlements of Strelecha, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Hatyshche, Volokhivka, Okhrimivka, Dvorichna, and Kamiyanka in the Kharkiv Region and Ivanivske in the Donetsk Region were hit by mortar and artillery fire.

On the Kupiyansk and Lyman directions, the enemy shelled the areas of sixteen settlements. Among them are Kyslivka, Kotliarivka, Tabayivka, and Berestivka of the Kharkiv Region; Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka, Pishchane, Makiyivka, and Ploschanka in the Luhansk Region and Chervonopopivka, Terny, Yampolivka, and Torske in the Donetsk Region.

In the Bakhmut and Avdiyivka directions, the enemy fired at the positions of the AFU from tanks, mortars, barrel artillery and MLRSes in the areas of twenty-four settlements. These are, in particular, Verkhniokamiyanske, Bilohorivka, Soledar, Bakhmut, Druzhba, Zalizne, Niu York, Avdiyivka, Opytne, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, and Mariyinka of the Donetsk Region. The occupiers struck with the forces of operational-tactical and army aviation in the areas of Spirne and Bilohorivka.

In the Novopavlovsk direction, enemy fire activity was recorded near Novoukraiyinka, Prechystivka, and Vuhledar in the Donetsk Region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy shelled the settlements of Vremivka in the Donetsk Region and Zelene Pole, Novopil, Novodarivka, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Dorozhnianka, Huliaipilske, Charivne, and Mali Shcherbaky in the Zaporizhzhia Region.

In the Kherson direction, the enemy shelled Chervonyi Mayak, Lviv, Inzhenerne, Chornobayivka, and the city of Kherson.

The summary reports that the enemy continues to use civilians as human shields in violation of international humanitarian law. For example, in the village of Troyitske in the temporarily occupied Luhansk Region, the Russian occupiers are placing military equipment and setting up firing positions near residential buildings where the civilian population lives.

During the current day, the aviation of the AFU conducted 14 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, as well as a strike on the positions of the enemy's anti-aircraft missile complex.

In addition, units of missile forces and artillery hit nine control points, 17 personnel concentration areas, an artillery concentration area, and two ammunition depots of the occupiers.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Russian army has created a system of defense structures in the temporarily occupied territory of the Luhansk Region. With their help, the occupiers intend to stop the advance of the AFU.

Meanwhile, Russian troops are trying to break through the defense of the AFU in the Bakhmut and Avdiyivka directions, and are also actively shelling populated areas of Ukraine using MLRSes.
