Total State Debt Up 5.1% To USD 103.1 Billion In October

The overall state (direct and state-secured) debt of Ukraine in October increased by 5.11%, or USD 5.02 billion, to USD 103.12 billion compared to the previous month.

This is stated in the data of the Ministry of Finance, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The state and state-secured debt as of late October amounted to UAH 3,770.95 billion, or USD 103.12 billion, against UAH 3,587.38 billion, or USD 98.10 billion, a month earlier.

The total direct state debt as of October 31 was UAH 3,417.38 billion (USD 93.45 billion) versus UAH 3,236.76 billion (USD 88.51 billion) a month earlier.

At the same time, the direct external debt for the month increased from USD 53.20 billion to USD 57.80 billion.

The direct domestic debt increased in hryvnia equivalent from UAH 1,291.32 billion to UAH 1,303.76 billion (in dollar equivalent increased from USD 35.31 billion to USD 35.65 billion).

The state-secured debt as of October 31 was UAH 353.58 billion, or USD 9.67 billion.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2021 the state debt increased by 8.52%, or by USD 7.69 billion, to USD 97.95 billion.

In 2020, the combined state debt increased by 6.9%, from USD 84.4 billion to USD 90.3 billion.

In 2019, the state and state-secured debt increased by USD 6.05 billion, and in the hryvnia equivalent decreased by UAH 170 billion.
