Embassy Of Ukraine In Spain Receives Envelope With Explosives, Kuleba Ordered To Strengthen Security Of All Embassies

The Ukrainian Embassy in Spain received an envelope with explosives, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba ordered to strengthen the security of all Ukrainian embassies.

The speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oleh Nikolenko wrote this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"The Ukrainian Embassy in Spain received an envelope. During the inspection, the envelope exploded in the hands of a commandant. The commandant received minor injuries, now he is hospitalized, he is receiving the necessary medical care. There are no threats to his life," he said.

Nikolenko noted that none of the rest of the embassy employees was injured.

He also said that Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba instructed to urgently strengthen the security of all Ukrainian embassies abroad.

Kuleba also asked his Spanish counterpart to take urgent measures to investigate the attack on the Ukrainian diplomatic institution.

Spanish law enforcement officers and the pyrotechnic service are already working on the spot.

The Minister stressed that whoever is behind the organization of this explosion, they will not be able to intimidate Ukrainian diplomats or stop their daily work on strengthening Ukraine and countering Russian aggression.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on November 29-30, Kuleba is in Bucharest (Romania) to participate in a meeting of foreign ministers of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization at the invitation of Secretary General of the Alliance Jens Stoltenberg.
