SSU Finds Propaganda Materials In Pochayiv Lavra Denying Existence Of Ukraine

Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) and the National Police found a large number of anti-Ukrainian materials during security measures on the territory of the Pochayiv Theological Seminary and the Ivano-Frankivsk Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate (UOC MP)).

This was reported in the SSU press center, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In particular, the SSU found literature that denies the existence of the Ukrainian people, its language, as well as Ukraine's right to statehood, and, on the contrary, emphasizes that it is an allegedly artificially created state.

The SSU also found brochures and books of xenophobic and hateful content with offensive fictions about other nationalities and religions.

Most of the literature is of the authorship of Russian figures published by Russian publishing houses.

In addition, the SSU is studying the origin of the symbols of the "Great Don Army", which were discovered in one of the utility rooms of the Ivano-Frankivsk Diocese of the UOC (MP).

In particular, it is about the chevrons of this illegal armed formation, which in 2014 helped the rashists occupy part of the Donetsk and Luhansk Regions.

All this physical evidence is the basis for opening two criminal proceedings under Article 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the equality of citizens depending on their racial, national, regional affiliation, religious beliefs, disability and on other grounds).

Currently, all of them have been sent to relevant independent examinations.

Based on the results of these investigations, further procedural actions will be taken.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the SSU found millions of hryvnias in cash and identified suspicious citizens of the Russian Federation during searches of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and other churches of the UOC MP.
