Ukraine retained the 23rd place in the rating of the international association Worldsteel in terms of the volume of steel production in the first ten months of 2022.

This is stated in a statement by the association of enterprises Ukrmetalurgprom, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

According to him, according to the results of production in the first ten months of 2022, Ukraine occupies the 23rd position among 64 countries - producers of steel with a result of 5.84 million tons, down 3.1 times year over year.

The first place traditionally belongs to China: Chinese metallurgists smelted 860.57 million tons in 10 months, down 2.2% year over year

China's share in world steel production is 55.4%.

Second place belongs to India (production increased by 6.1% to 103.8 million tons), third place to Japan (decrease by 6.5% to 75.2 million tons), fourth place to the United States (decrease by 4.9% to 66.1 million tons), the fifth - Russia (decreased by 6.6% to 60.4 million tons), the sixth - South Korea (decreased by 5% to 55.7 million tons), the seventh - Germany (decreased by 6.9% to 31.4 million tons), eighth - Turkey (decreased by 10.1% to 30.2 million tons), ninth - Brazil (decreased by 5.3% to 28.7 million tons) , the tenth - Iran (increased by 9.1% to 25.1 million tons).

World steel production in the first ten months of 2022 amounted to 1,552.67 million tons, down 3.9% year over year.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Ukraine took 23rd place in the rating of the international association Worldsteel by the volume of steel production in the first nine months of 2022.

Ukraine took 14th place in the Worldsteel rating by the volume of steel production in 2021 with a result of 21.37 million tons, up 3.6% year over year.
