The volume of funds placed by individuals on bank accounts in hryvnia and foreign currency, according to operational data, increased by 1.2% month over month to UAH 855.765 billion as of October 1 as against September 1.
Ukrainian News Agency has learned this from the data provided by the National Bank of Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the year, population’s deposits in banks have grown by 19% from UAH 719.418 billion.
In September, the hryvnia deposits with commercial banks rose by 1.6% to UAH 548.968 billion.
In September, the foreign currency deposits of the population in the hryvnia equivalent increased by 0.6% to UAH 306.797 billion.
In September, deposits of legal entities with Ukrainian commercial banks (both in the hryvnia and foreign currency) increased by 3.1% to UAH 800 billion.
The average interest rate on hryvnia deposits (average monthly) in September for legal entities increased by 1.1 p.p. to 9.3%, and for individuals it increased by 1 p.p. to 9.1%.
The rate on foreign currency deposits for legal entities made 1.2%, and 0.8% for the population.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2021, the funds deposited by individuals on accounts of commercial banks rose by 6.8% from UAH 674.718 billion to UAH 720.932 billion.
In 2020, the funds deposited by individuals on bank accounts rose by 24.5% from UAH 542.302 billion.
