Occupiers Trying To Hold Captured Positions, Enemy Made Over 60 Missile Strikes During Day - General Staff

The Russian occupiers are trying to hold the captured positions, intensifying rocket, aviation and anti-aircraft fire. This is stated in the message of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.

Thus, it is reported that during the previous day, the occupiers launched more than 61 rocket and 32 air strikes, carried out about 92 attacks from rocket salvo systems. 73 air targets were destroyed by air defense units in various directions, including 46 cruise missiles and 27 unmanned aerial vehicles.

In general, the infrastructure of more than 30 settlements was damaged as a result of the massive missile attack over the past day.

It is also noted that the occupiers do not stop trying to hold the temporarily captured territories, fire at the positions of our troops, focus their efforts on trying to disrupt the counterattacks of the units of the Defense Forces, and try to conduct offensive actions in separate directions.

There are no significant changes on the Volyn and Polissia directions. Belarus continues to support Russia in the war. It is about the possibility of using the airspace and airfield network to carry out strikes on Ukraine.

The enemy fired in other directions:

in the Siversk direction - from mortars, barrel and jet artillery, in the areas of Yanzhulivka, Tymonovychi, Mikhalchyna Sloboda of the Chernihiv Region and Bilopillia and Myropillia of the Sumy Region;
in the Slobozhanske direction - from artillery and tanks, in the areas of the settlements of Ivashky, Strilechia, Hurivka, Kamyanka, Dvorichna, Stelmakhivka, Borshchova, Sotnytskyi Kozachok, Huryev Kozachok, Kozacha Lopan, Olkhovatka and Chavunivka;
in the Kramatorsk direction - from tanks, mortars, barrel and rocket artillery, along the entire line of contact. In particular, in the areas of the settlements of Bilohorivka, Hrekivka, Novoyehorivka, Rayhorodok, Pervomayske, Novoliubivka, Makiyivka, Nove, Zarichne, Terny, Serebrianka and Hryhorivka;
in the Bakhmut direction, the enemy inflicted fire damage on the areas of the settlements of Siversk, Soledar, Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Mayorsk, Kurdiumivka, New York, Chervona Hora, Chasiv Yar, Yakovlivka, Zelenopillia and Vidradivka.
the enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the Avdiyivka, Novopavlivske, and Zaporizhzhia directions. Avdiyivka, Pershotravneve, Vodiane, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Nevelske, Zaliznychne, Bilohirya, Chasivka, Zelene Pole, Novosilka, Shcherka Chervone were shelled by tanks, mortars, barrel and jet artillery.
in the Pivdennobuzke direction, the enemy intensified shelling from tanks and artillery of various types. Areas of the settlements of Vyshatarasivka, Novokyyivka, Pravdyne, Myrne, Ternovi Pody, Liubomyrovka, Shyroke, Kyselivka, Chervona Dolyna, Blahodativka, Davydiv Brid and Nova Kamyanka were affected by the fire.

Last day, our heroes repelled enemy attacks in the areas of settlements:

Bakhmut;
Bakhmutske;
Mayorsk;
Soledar;

The enemy continues to suffer losses. So, on October 9, our soldiers destroyed about 15 units of enemy military equipment in the area of Bilozerka of the Kherson Region. On October 10, in the area of Beryslav settlement, a hangar with military equipment of the enemy was hit, the losses are being clarified.

It is also known that the occupiers are recommending the teachers of Kherson universities that cooperate with Russia to move to Crimea. In case of a complication of the situation on the territory of the peninsula, the occupation authorities have prepared a plan for the evacuation of the families of the representatives of the leadership of the security forces serving on the said territory.

"In the city of Starobilsk of the Luhansk Region, the occupiers are searching for Ukrainian patriots, detaining family members and friends of servicemen, as well as law enforcement officers," the General Staff writes.

In the Luhansk Region, the occupiers are looking for deserters under the guise of searching for Ukrainian saboteurs.

Last day, the aviation of the Defense Forces made 6 strikes. It was confirmed that 4 places of concentration of weapons and military equipment, as well as 2 anti-aircraft missile systems of the enemy were hit. An enemy Su-25 was also shot down.

"In the previous day, the missile forces and artillery hit the control post, four areas of concentration of manpower, weapons and military equipment, one S-300 anti-aircraft missile system of the enemy and one warehouse with ammunition," the statement reads.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 9, the General Staff reported that the Armed Forces successfully repelled the offensive of the invaders in the areas of seven settlements in the Donetsk Region.

The government also spoke about the consequences of the massive missile attack on Ukraine.
