Energoatom President Kotin Will Act As Zaporizhzhia NPP Director General

Petro Kotin, President of the Energoatom National Nuclear Power Generation Company, will serve as Director General of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (Enerhodar, Zaporizhzhia region).

Kotin said this in a video message posted on the Energoatom Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"In accordance with the current legislation, permits and regulations, I decided to take over the duties of the Director General of the Zaporizhzhia NPP. The administration of the station has been transferred to Kyiv since the abduction of the Director General of the Zaporizhzhia NPP Ihor Murashov," he said.

According to Kotin, all further decisions on the operation of the station will be made directly at the central office of Energoatom.

"All technical issues of operation of power units will continue to be resolved by NPP technical personnel in agreement with the company's central office, namely acting chief engineer Yurii Chernichuk under the leadership of acting first vice president - technical director of the Energoatom NJSC Yurii Sheik. Of course, our work, our fate, our homes and our future are with Ukraine, as always. We will continue to work in accordance with Ukrainian legislation, in the Ukrainian power system, in Energoatom. Do not doubt this!" he said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Director General of the Zaporizhzhia NPP Ihor Murashov after his release from captivity will not work at the station.
