Ukraine reduces grain exports 2.5 times in August

Since the beginning of the 2022/2023 marketing year (July 2022 - June 2023) and as of August 31, the actual volume of grain exports by Ukraine is 3.964 million tons, which is 2.2 times or 4.661 million tons less than in the same period of the previous marketing year.

That follows from a statement by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

A total of 1,139,000 tons of wheat, 310,000 tons of barley, and 2,498,000 tons of corn have already been exported.

At the same time, during the specified period, the export of wheat flour and flour from other crops fell twice or by 12,200 tons to 11,900 tons.

Since the beginning of August, the actual volumes of grain exports amounted to 2.264 million tons, down 2.5 times or 3.325 million tons year over year.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine, taking into account average prices on the world food market, expects to receive at least USD 20 billion from this year's grain exports.

On August 5, the first caravan with Ukrainian grain left the sea ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk.
