First Ship Chartered By UN With Ukrainian Agricultural Products Arrived In Africa - Infrastructure Ministry

The bulk carrier BRAVE COMMANDER, chartered by the UN World Food Program, with 23,000 tons of wheat for Ethiopia, arrived in Djibouti on Tuesday.

This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Today, the bulk carrier BRAVE COMMANDER, chartered by the UN World Food Program, arrived in Djibouti. It has 23,000 tons of wheat on board, which will be delivered to consumers in Ethiopia after unloading," the message states.

This bulker departed from the Yuzhny seaport (Odesa region) on August 16.

At the same time, on Tuesday, August 30, another ship chartered by the UN World Food Program left this port - the bulk carrier KARTERIA with 37,500 tons of wheat for Yemen.

In general, during the implementation of the Initiative on the safe transportation of agricultural products, 61 ships with 1.5 million tons of food have already left Ukrainian ports.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on Tuesday, six ships left the "grain corridor" from the sea ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdenny.

Ukraine, taking into account average prices on the world food market, expects to receive at least USD 20 billion from this year's grain exports.
