According to operational data, the amount of funds placed by individuals in hryvnia and foreign currency bank accounts increased by 7.7% to UAH 843.732 billion as of August 1 compared to July 1.
This is evidenced by the data of the National Bank, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Since the beginning of the year, deposits of the population in banks have increased by 17.3% from UAH 719.418 billion.
Population deposits in hryvnia in banks increased by 0.7% to UAH 539.621 billion in July.
At the same time, the amount of foreign currency deposits of the population in the hryvnia equivalent increased by 22.7% to UAH 304.112 billion in the reporting month.
Deposits of legal entities (hryvnia and currency) in July increased by 4.6% to UAH 766.543 billion.
The average interest rate on hryvnia deposits (monthly average) in July for legal entities increased by 0.5 percentage points to 7.8%, for individuals - by 1.5 percentage points to 8.1%.
The interest rate on currency deposits for legal entities was 1.5%, for the population - 0.9%.
In 2021, population deposits in banks increased by 6.8% from UAH 674.718 billion to UAH 720.932 billion.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2020, population deposits in banks increased by 24.5% from UAH 542.302 billion.
In 2019, population deposits in banks increased by 8.6% from UAH 501.7 billion to UAH 542.3 billion.
