Russian occupiers in Bohorodychne district of Donetsk region tried to wage an offensive battle, but were unsuccessful and withdrew. Fighting continues near Mazanivka and Novodmytrivka.
That follows from a statement by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted on Facebook.
The situation in the Volyn and Polisskyi directions has not changed significantly. In the Siversk direction, the enemy does not stop shelling from barrel artillery on the border areas of Chernihiv and Sumy regions.
In the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops continue to actively conduct UAV reconnaissance in order to adjust artillery fire and determine the positions of units of the Defense Forces. Shelling was also carried out on military and civilian infrastructure in the districts of Kharkiv, Petrivka, Dementiyivka, and eighteen other settlements.
The occupiers launched airstrikes near Staryi Saltiv and Mospanove. They are advancing not far from Lebedyne and Bazaliyivka, the fighting continues. The occupiers remotely mine the area - this time near Lebedyne.
In the Sloviyansk direction, the enemy attacked using tanks, barrel artillery, and MLRSes in the areas of Brazhkivka, Velyka Komyshuvakha, Virnopillia, and Mazanivka settlements. It also conducted remote demining of the area near Dovhenke.
In the Donetsk region, the occupiers continue to focus their efforts on the Bakhmut and Novopavlovsk directions. On the Kramatorsk and Avdiyivka directions, the enemy is trying to improve the tactical position of the troops.
In the Kramatorsk region, artillery shelling was recorded near Mykolayivka, Sloviyansk, Kramatorsk, Spirne, Verkhniokamiyanske, Ivano-Dariyivka, Hryhorivka, and Zvanivka. The enemy was conducting aerial reconnaissance in the Kramatorsk district. Near Spirne, the occupiers decided to go on the offensive, suffered losses and retreated.
In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy shelled the districts of Bakhmut, Soledar, Zaitsev, Bilohorivka, and Mayorsk. Enemy troops carried out airstrikes on civilian infrastructure near Soledar. The occupiers attempted offensive and assault actions not far from Zaitsev, were unsuccessful, and retreated. Fighting continues in the Soledar and Bakhmut districts.
In the Avdiyivka direction, tanks and artillery of various types shelled territories near Avdiivka, Mariyinka, Niu York, Oleksandropillia, Pisky, Vodiane, Opytne, and Nevelske.
The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Mariyinka, Krasnohorivka, and Yasynuvata. It also conducted UAV aerial reconnaissance near Krasnohorivka and Opytne. Attempts are being made to carry out assaults in the Opytne area, and fighting continues.
In the Novopavlovsk and Zaporizhzhia directions, the enemy fired using artillery, MLRSes and tanks in the areas of the settlements of Velyka Novosilka, Novosilka, Novomykhailivka, Pavlivka, Bohoyavlenka, Sontsivka, Stepnohirsk, Shevchenko, Vuhledar, Burlatske, Lukiyanivske, Orikhiv, Vremivka, Poltavka, Novopil, and Novoandriyivka. Also, Russian troops conducted offensive battles in the area of Shevchenkove settlement, received a strong repulse, and retreated. Fighting continues near Novomykhailivka. The occupiers mined the area in the Izhenerne and Ukrayinske districts.
In the Pivdennyi Buh direction, the enemy's main efforts are focused on holding the occupied positions, preventing the advance of our troops, and attacking units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine with fire.
The enemy is taking steps to replenish losses. It carried out shelling using barrel artillery, MLRSes, and tanks in Mykolayiv, Stepova Dolyna areas, and 27 other settlements.
The occupiers launched airstrikes and conducted offensive battles near Bilohirka. Ukrainian soldiers significantly thinned the ranks of the Russian invaders and forced the enemy to flee. The enemy continues to conduct reconnaissance with unmanned aerial vehicles.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on Monday, August 15, the General Staff reported in the morning briefing that Russian troops had tried to advance in Donbas and in the direction of Zaporizhzhia.
And the day before, on August 14, the command reported on the partial success of the occupying forces, which they were able to achieve in the Bakhmut direction.
