President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposes that the Verkhovna Rada extend martial law in Ukraine from August 23 for 90 days to November 21.

This is stated in bill No. 7664, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The bill provides for the approval of the presidential decree "On the extension of the period of martial law in Ukraine," according to which the period of martial law is extended from 5:30 a.m. on August 23 for 90 days.

Consequently, the period of validity of the military condition was extended until November 21.

The explanatory note states that the implementation of the presidential decree "On the extension of martial law in Ukraine" will contribute to the adoption of adequate measures aimed at repelling the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in April the Rada extended martial law for 90 days until August 23.
