Russia is transferring a large number of troops to the territory of Crimea to be used in the future against the armed forces in the south.

This was reported by the Defense Intelligence of the Defense Ministry, reports Ukrainian News Agency.

"Russia is transferring a large number of troops to the territory of the occupied Crimea. In the future, they plan to use them in the south of our state to conduct hostilities against the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the Defense Intelligence notes, referring to the interview of Vadym Skibitskyi, a representative of the Defense Intelligence Ministry of Defense, for The Guardian.

According to him, two weeks ago, Russia withdrew tactical groups of airborne troops from Donetsk region and transferred them to occupied Kherson.

The Russian Federation is also transferring troops from its eastern military district, which were used for the attack on Sloviyansk.

"If Russia were to win the battle in southern and eastern Ukraine, it would continue new offensive operations to capture more territory in Ukraine, using units currently being formed in the Russian Federation," Skibitskyi said.

The representative of the Defense Intelligence noted that, in addition to additional weapons, Ukraine needs help in training troops abroad.

As reported by Ukrainian News Agency, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia is shifting its forces to the south, but emphasized that he believes that strategically they have no chance of winning this war.

Russian marines from Sevastopol refuse to return to Ukraine and disrupt the unit's training plan.
