Ukraine has taken the 21st place on the rating of the international association Worldsteel by the volume of steel production in the first half of 2022.
This is stated in a statement by the Ukrmetalurhprom association, reports Ukrainian News Agency.
According to him, according to the results of the production in the first half of 2022, Ukraine occupies the 21st position among 64 countries - producers of steel with a result of 4.54 million tons, which is 2.4 times lower than the indicator registered in the first half of 2021.
The first place traditionally belongs to China: Chinese metallurgists smelted 526.88 million tons in the 6 months, which is 6.5% less than in the same period of 2021.
China's share in world steel production is 55.5%.
Second place belongs to India (production increased by 8.8% to 63.2 million tons), third place to Japan (decrease by 4.3% to 46 million tons), fourth place to the United States (decrease by 2.2% to 41 .1 million tons), the fifth - Russia (decreased by 7.2% to 35.4 million tons), the sixth - South Korea (decreased by 3.9% to 33.8 million tons), the seventh - Germany (decreased by 5.6% to 19.6 million tons), eighth - Turkey (decreased by 4.6% to 18.96 million tons), ninth - Brazil (decreased by 2.9% to 17.4 million tons) , and the tenth - Iran (decreased by 10.8% to 13.6 million tons).
World steel production in the first half of 2022, amounted to 949.44 million tons, which is 5.51% lower than in the first half of 2021.
As Ukrainian News reported, Ukraine took 14th place in the Worldsteel ranking in terms of steel production in 2021 with a result of 21.37 million tons, which is 3.6% more than in 2020.
