Ukraine has received an additional JPY 65 billion (approximately USD 500 million) of a concessional loan under a loan agreement signed by Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko and President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Dr. Akihiko Tanaka.
This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Finance, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The funds were sent to the state budget to finance priority social and humanitarian spending, health care.
The loan is provided on preferential terms: the loan maturity period is 30 years, including the grace period - 10 years; interest rate - 1% per annum.
On June 7, the Government of Ukraine and the Government of Japan signed an additional Agreement on the loan of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency for a development policy in the field of emergency economic recovery.
The agreement increased the loan amount by JPY 65 billion, bringing the loan amount to JPY 78 billion (about USD 600 million).
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 24, Ukraine received JPY 13.0 billion (about USD 100 million) under this agreement.
