Missile strikes from the territory of Belarus are a large-scale provocation by the Russian Federation with the aim of further drawing Belarus into the war against Ukraine. This is stated in a message on the Facebook page of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on Saturday, June 25.

The Defense Intelligence points out that on the night of June 25, a massive missile and bomb attack was carried out on the territory of Ukraine, during which Russian bombers worked directly from the territory of Belarus. For this, 6 Tu-22M3 aircraft were involved, which launched 12 Kh-22 cruise missiles. The launch line is the area of the city of Petrikov, not far from Mozyr, approximately 50-60 kilometers from the state border of Ukraine.

"The bombers took off from the Shaikovka airport in Kaluga region of the Russian Federation. Then they entered the airspace of Belarus through the territory of Kaluga and Smolensk regions. After launching the missiles, they returned to the Shaikovka airport in the territory of the Russian Federation. The strike was carried out on Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy regions. This is the first case of an airstrike on Ukraine directly from the territory of Belarus. Today's shelling is directly related to the attempts of the Kremlin authorities to draw Belarus into the war in Ukraine as a direct participant," the statement says.

Also yesterday, June 24, it became known about the arrival of Russian sabotage groups on the territory of the Belarusian Mozyr, planning to undermine residential buildings, school and hospital in the city. Possible provocations can be filed as Ukraine's response to airstrikes.
