Ukraine Not Planning To Use American MLRS For Attacks On Objects On Russian Territory - Podoliak

Advisor to the head of the President's Office Mykhailo Podoliak has said that Ukraine does not plan to use the U.S.-provided Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS) to attack objects on the territory of the Russian Federation.

He wrote about this on Twitter, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Ukraine is waging a defensive war and does not plan to use the MLRS provided for attacks on objects in Russia," Podoliak said.

The adviser to the head of the Office believes that the primary task of Russia is to undermine confidence between Ukraine and the United States.

However, according to him, American partners know where the equipment they provided is used.

"Any stuffing about such intentions is propaganda of the Russian special services," he said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the United States began to train Ukrainian military shooting from HIMARS complexes.

On June 1, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken confirmed the provision of a new aid package to Ukraine, which includes the supply of longer-range missile systems.

The UK also wants to transfer M270 Multiple Launch Rocket Systems to Ukraine, but must receive U.S. permission.
