More than 14,000 citizens and business representatives joined the purchase of war bonds last week, the share of investments of the population reached a record level.
The NBU has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Since the beginning of the full-scale attack by Russia, the Ministry of Finance has held 30 auctions for the sale of war bonds, attracting almost UAH 60 billion, about USD 144.1 million and EUR 176.5 million to the state budget.
The largest portfolio of war bonds is traditionally concentrated among banks - primary dealers.
At the same time, last week the number of depositors among citizens and businesses increased from 43,300 to 58,100.
As of May 16, the volume of investments of Ukrainian citizens and businesses in war bonds is almost UAH 5.7 billion (9.3% of the total volume of war bonds nominated in hryvnia), USD 48 million (33.9% of the total volume of war bonds nominated in dollars) and EUR 26 million (14.8% of the total volume of war bonds nominated in euros); non-residents - UAH 300.4 million.
The share of citizens in the volume of investments in war bonds reached a record indicator both in terms of the number of buyers of government securities and in terms of their ownership in percentage terms.
Today, everyone can join the purchase of war bonds and thus support the financial defense of Ukraine.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the National Bank on March 22, 2022 began publishing statistics from the NBU depository on war bonds on a weekly basis.
