World Bank Allocates EUR 88.5 Million Grant To Ukraine

The World Bank allocated a grant of EUR 88.5 million to Ukraine.

The Ministry of Finance has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

On April 21, Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko and World Bank Regional Director for Eastern Europe (Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine) Arup Banerjee signed an agreement to provide Ukraine with a grant of EUR 88.5 million.

Grant funds will be channeled to Ukraine from the donor trust fund under the Second Economic Recovery Development Policy Loan Program for Ukraine.

The funds will be channeled to the general fund of the state budget of Ukraine to ensure priority social, humanitarian, health care costs, support for internally displaced persons, etc.

As Ukrainian News Agency reported, the Trust Fund was established by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Development Association, contributions to which have already been received from Denmark (about EUR 20.5 million), Iceland (about EUR 0.46 million), Latvia (about EUR 5.0 million), Lithuania (about EUR 5.0 million) and the UK (about UUR 60.0 million).
