Border Guard Service Resumes Possibility Of Traveling Abroad For Ukrainians With Internal Passport

The State Border Guard Service has resumed for citizens of Ukraine the possibility of traveling abroad with internal passports due to the situation in Ukraine during martial law.

This was reported to Ukrainian News Agency in the State Border Guard Service.

"The possibility of border crossing by Ukrainian citizens with internal passports has been extended. This decision was made in view of the situation developing on the territory of Ukraine during martial law, when citizens of Ukraine cannot quickly and timely issue a passport of a citizen of Ukraine to travel abroad (foreign travel passport). It is because of humanitarian circumstances and in accordance with the previously reached agreements with neighboring countries, that the employees of the Border Guard Service will allow the passage of citizens of Ukraine, including with an internal passport document," the Service said.

At that, the State Border Guard Service draws the attention of Ukrainian citizens to the fact that in some cases, during their stay abroad, there may be an urgent need for a foreign travel passport, which is determined by the legislation of those countries where Ukrainian citizens plan to stay, or during movement abroad to some countries.

Therefore, border guards advise citizens of Ukraine to take into account different situations and, if possible, issue a passport for them before crossing the border.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, border guards will not allow citizens of Ukraine abroad with an internal passport if they are not from the combat zone.
