NBU Transfers UAH 15.2 Billion For Military Needs, UAH 6 Million Remained In Special Account

The National Bank transferred UAH 15.2 billion to the military, leaving UAH 6 million in the special account.

This is stated in the message of the NBU, Ukrainian News reports.

As of April 19, 2022, the balance in the special account opened by the National Bank to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine is more than UAH 6 million.

The National Bank has already transferred UAH 15.2 billion to the military, in particular:

- for the needs of the National Guard of Ukraine – UAH 950 million;

- for the needs of the National Police of Ukraine – UAH 1,650 million;

- for the needs of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine – UAH 11,628 million;

- for the needs of the State Border Service – UAH 980.2 million.

In total, since the opening of the special account, more than UAH 15.2 billion in equivalent have been transferred to it.

In particular, almost UAH 4.8 billion in equivalent came from abroad in foreign currency (US dollars, euros, pounds, Canadian dollars, Chinese renminbi, Japanese yen, Swiss francs, Polish zlotys, Australian dollars).

Funds came from citizens and businesses in Ukraine, as well as from the international community (including the United States, Britain, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Switzerland, Norway, Australia, France, Canada and many countries).

As Ukrainian News reported, the National Bank has opened a special multi-currency account to help the Ukrainian army.
