The Russian military has abandoned the offensive in more than six directions in Ukraine.
Advisor to the Head of the Presidential Office Oleksii Arestovych announced this at a briefing, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Arestovych said that the enemy continues the offensive in only a few directions.
"I remind you that from the nine operational directions in which the enemy came from the beginning of the war, two and a half remained. This is the Joint Forces Operation zone, Luhansk region, Mariupol. In Kherson region, where the enemy tried to advance recently, it has now taken up defense," said Arestovych.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Arestovych states that the most fierce battles are now taking place in the south-west of Luhansk region and in the Joint Forces Operation zone.
Russian troops went on the offensive from Izium (Kharkiv region) towards Sloviansk and Kramatorsk (Donetsk region).
Russian troops are preparing for the surrender of Kherson and exit from Kherson region.
