The number of killed children has risen by 5 to 153 and the number of injured by 13 to 245 since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The Prosecutor General’s Office has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
“About 400 children have suffered in Ukraine since the beginning of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. Of these, 153 were killed and more than 245 were injured. Work continues to establish all the data on the affected children in places of active hostilities and in territories temporarily occupied by the enemy. In particular, in the city of Mariupol, in certain territories of Kyiv, Chernihiv and Luhansk regions," the statement reads.
According to the data received, children suffered the most in Kyiv region - 73, in Donetsk region - 65, in Kharkiv region - 53, in Chernihiv region - 43, in Mykolaiv region - 30, in Luhansk region - 31, in Zaporizhzhia region - 22, in Kherson region - 29, in the capital - 16, in Sumy region - 16, in Zhytomyr region - 15.
It is noted that on March 19, the Russian military fired on columns of civilian vehicles that were evacuated by the "green corridor" from Mariupol, as a result of which the father and child were killed.
On March 31, a 2-year-old girl from Lysychansk, Luhansk region, died, who, along with her 7-year-old brother, were seriously injured the day before.
On March 30, in Chernihiv region, as a result of shelling, 2 children were injured.
On March 31, in Donetsk region, 5 minors were taken to a medical institution, who were injured as a result of shelling.
Due to bombing and shelling, 859 educational institutions were damaged, 83 of them were completely destroyed.
The worst situation is in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kyiv, Kherson, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv regions and the city of Kyiv.
As Ukrainian News Agency reported, on March 19, the invaders illegally took 2,389 children to Russia who were in the temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
