Wanted MP Medvedchuk Did Not Cross Border - Venediktova

Member of Parliament Viktor Medvedchuk, who was put on the wanted list, did not officially cross the border; the Prosecutor General’s Office has no data on the crossing.

Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova said this in an interview with the Ukrainska Pravda online publication, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Where can he be? There are several operational versions, they are being worked out. To say that we think that he is in Moscow, I can’t say that ... there is no evidence that he crossed the border. There is no official data," Venediktova said.

According to her, the versions of Medvedchuk's escape are being worked out as part of the investigation of the case.

Venediktova also added that as part of the search for Medvedchuk, searches are being carried out in many different places.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, law enforcers have put MP Viktor Medvedchuk on the wanted list.

The Lychakivskyi District Court of Lviv has chosen a measure of restraint in the form of detention in absentia for MP Viktor Medvedchuk (Opposition Platform - For Life), who is suspected of high treason and assistance to the activities of a terrorist organization.
