The invaders are conducting covert preparations for holding elections for the pro-Russian administration of districts and cities in the territories of Zaporizhia region temporarily occupied by them.
The press service of the Ministry of Defense has stated this in a statement on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Continuing illegal activities in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhia region, in some settlements, the invaders are conducting covert preparations for holding elections for the pro-Russian administration of districts and cities. In order to organize the so-called "Russian humanitarian convoys", the invaders concentrated in the port of Berdiansk a convoy of the Kamaz white tent trucks of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation," the statement says.
It is emphasized that such trucks were used for covert transportation of ammunition to the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
This may indicate the intentions of the occupiers to organize such "humanitarian convoys" to Zaporizhia region.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Russian forces managed to hold the land corridor in the southern part of Zaporizhia region.
First Deputy Chairman of the Kherson Regional Council Yurii Sobolevskyi declared that the occupiers had held a meeting of the so-called Kherson Region Rescue Committee in the premises of the Regional Council.
