Ukraine demands the exclusion of Russia as a state that financing terrorist from the FATF (Financial Action Task Force).
This is evidenced by the data of the relevant petition, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The corresponding initiative was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Financial Monitoring Service, the Verkhovna Rada and other state bodies.
"Since Russia is committing more and more barbaric atrocities in Ukraine, it must be excluded from all civilized organizations and platforms. We call on all FATF member countries to immediately exclude Russia from the consortium and put it on the FATF black list," the Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said earlier.
Besides, the State Financial Monitoring Service also asks to add the Republic of Belarus to the black list of the FATF.
A non-governmental petition calling for Russia to be excluded from the FATF and included in the FATF black list has already been signed by an international group of experts - both Ukrainians and foreigners, including former Finance Minister of Ukraine Natalie Jaresko.
As Ukrainian News Agency reported, FATF is an intergovernmental organization that develops world standards in the field of combating money laundering and terrorist financing.
The FATF monitors the compliance of countries with its standards on an ongoing basis.
In particular, special attention is paid to countries that are in the risk zone - the black list of the FATF.
