The United States has banned the importation of Russian oil, natural gas and coal.
This was announced by United States President Joe Biden, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Today I am announcing the United States is targeting the main artery of Russia's economy. We're banning all imports of Russian oil and gas and energy. That means Russian oil will no longer be acceptable at U.S. ports and the American people will deal another powerful blow to Putin's war machine," Biden said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the National Bank of Ukraine has called on the United States and the European Union to freeze the assets of all Russian banks.
