Zelenskyy Signs Application For Ukraine's Membership In EU

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed an application for Ukraine's membership in the European Union.

The Verkhovna Rada has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Zelenskyy signed a letter to French President Emmanuel Macron, as well as a copy to President of the European Council Charles Michel, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola about Ukraine's application for EU membership.

"With this letter, Ukraine, as a European state that respects the values ​​enshrined in Article 2 of the Treaty on European Union, has the honor to apply for membership in the European Union in accordance with Article 49 of the Treaty on European Union," the letter says.
