January Inflation 1.3%

In January 2022, consumer prices rose by 1.3%.

The State Statistics Service has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

At that, in January, foodstuff and soft beverage prices rose by 2.5%, prices for clothes and footwear decreased by 5.7%, cost of housing-public utility services rose by 0.7%, health care services rose in cost by 0.5%, and cost of education increased by 1.6%.

In January 2022, consumer prices rose by 10.0% over January 2021.

In January 2022, the base consumer price index increased by 0.1%.

Compared to January 2021, core inflation was 7.6% in January 2022.

Core inflation is a subindex of the consumer price index.

The base consumer price index (core inflation) is the part of inflation that reflects the dynamics of free prices excluding items the prices of which are influenced by administrative and seasonal factors.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in December 2021, consumer prices rose by 0.6%.

In December 2021, the base consumer price index rose by 0.4%.

In 2021, inflation was 10.0%; 5.0% in 2020; 4.1% in 2019; 9.8% in 2018; 13.7% in 2017; 12.4% in 2016; 43.3% in 2015; 24.9% in 2014; 0.5% in 2013.

In 2021, the base consumer price index increased by 7.9%.

The state budget for 2022 provides for an increase in consumer prices (December to December of the previous year) - 6.2%.
