On January 20, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 20,156 over January 19 to 3,819,538, and the number of deaths increased by 150 over January 19 to 98,993; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 9.1%, and the number of new deaths increased by 14.5%.
This follows from data of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to the report, as of the morning of January 21, a total of 3,819,538 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 98,993 deaths; 3,576,268 had recovered.
On January 20, a total of 20,156 new disease cases were recorded, 150 people died, and 4,486 people recovered.
Therefore, as of January 20, the number of newly infected people was higher than that of those who recovered (20,156 vs 4,486).
At the same time, on January 20, a total of 2,226 coronavirus-infected people were hospitalized, up by 3.5% over January 19.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 19, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 18,479 over January 18 to 3,799,382, and the number of deaths increased by 131 over January 18 to 98,843; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 44.2%, and the number of new deaths decreased by 19.6%.
On January 18, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 12,815 over January 17 to 3,780,903, and the number of deaths increased by 163 over January 17 to 98,712; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 49.7%, and the number of new deaths decreased by 13.3%.
