Russian special services are preparing provocations against the military of the Russian Federation in order to later blame Ukraine for this.
The press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"The Russian special services are preparing provocations against the military personnel of the RF Armed Forces in order to blame Ukraine for this. The military units of the aggressor country and its satellites are being ordered to prepare for such provocations," the statement says.
According to the information of the military intelligence of Ukraine, on January 13, a service meeting was held in the third separate motorized rifle brigade of the Armed Forces of Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova, during which the personnel were informed that provocations were expected from Ukraine near settlement of Kolbasna (artillery personnel of the operational group of troops of the Russian Federation).
The order to bring the brigade to the highest degree of combat readiness was not given, but the readiness of the personnel "on the first command" to carry out tasks as intended was noted.
It is also reported that to date, vacations and dismissals of personnel have not been canceled, but commanders and superiors were ordered to inform their subordinates about the need to arrive at the military unit on a signal.
As Ukrainian News Agency reported, on January 4, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense noted the reinforcement of advanced positions by militants near the line of confrontation in the JFO zone during the New Year holidays.
