Ukraine Signs Agreement With Pfizer On Procurement Of 300,000 Courses Of Paxlovid Drug From Covid-19

Health Minister Viktor Liashko says Ukraine has signed an agreement with Pfizer (the United States) on procurement of 300,000 courses of Paxlovid drug from Covid-19.

The minister has said this at a briefing, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to Liashko, the application of that drug will help avoid complications, hospitalizations, and deaths from Covid-19 for people from risk groups.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 13, Liashko said that 40% of the adult population of Ukraine had already passed full course of vaccination from Covid-19.

On December 15, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 9,590 over December 14 to 3,588,147, and the number of deaths increased by 355 over December 14 to 92,313; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 18.3%, and the number of new deaths decreased by 0.3%.

According to the report, as of the morning of December 15, a total of 3,588,147 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 92,313 deaths; 3,284,815 had recovered.

On December 15, a total of 9,590 new disease cases were recorded, 355 people died, and 25,499 people recovered.

Therefore, as of December 15, the number of newly infected people was lower than that of those who recovered (9,590 vs 25,499).

At the same time, on December 15, a total of 2,089 coronavirus-infected people were hospitalized, down 8.4% over December 14.

On December 14, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 8,109 over December 13 to 3,578,557, and the number of deaths increased by 356 over December 13 to 91,958; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 11.3%, and the number of new deaths decreased by 8%.

On December 13, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 7,283 over December 12 to 3,570,448, and the number of deaths increased by 387 over December 12 to 91,602; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 78.8%, and the number of new deaths rose twice.
