World Bank Decides To Allocate USD 150 Million To Ukraine In December For Vaccination And Fight Against Covid-19

The board of directors of the World Bank has approved additional financing worth USD 150 million within the Urgent Response to Covid-19 and Vaccination in Ukraine project.

The financial institution has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the Bank, the funds will help prevent, expose and response to threats deriving from the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as enhance the national health care system of Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the World Bank was reported to be ready to allocate USD 230 million to Ukraine in December for vaccination and fight against Covid-19.

On December 12, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 4,073 over December 11 to 3,563,165, and the number of deaths increased by 188 over December 11 to 91,215; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 22.8%, and the number of new deaths decreased by 21%.

According to the report, as of the morning of December 12, a total of 3,563,165 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 91,215 deaths; 3,205,879 had recovered.

On December 12, a total of 4,073 new disease cases were recorded, 188 people died, and 9,966 people recovered.

Therefore, as of December 12, the number of newly infected people was lower than that of those who recovered (4,073 vs 9,966).

At the same time, on December 12, a total of 1,456 coronavirus-infected people were hospitalized, down 43.4% over December 11.

On December 11, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 5,275 over December 10 to 3,559,092, and the number of deaths increased by 238 over December 10 to 91,027; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 47.9%, and the number of new deaths decreased by 46.6%.

On December 10, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 10,133 over December 9 to 3,553,817, and the number of deaths increased by 446 over December 9 to 90,789; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 10.5%, and the number of new deaths increased by 0.9%.
