"Energoatom" is a huge potential resource for mining, - Serhiy Tron

"Energy potential resources of Ukraine might be used for Bitcoin mining" -  considers businessman and investor Serhiy Tron. He believes  - "ENERGOATOM", which manages all the nuclear power plants of Ukraine, might use this huge potential in the most profitable way  for  itself and high-tech Ukrainian business.

It is no secret  – nuclear power of Ukraine is a foundation of whole energy system of the country, which producing  a half electricity in Ukraine. In Ukraine under the management of  SE NNEGG "Energoatom" 4 nuclear power plants: Zaporizhzhia, Riwne, South-Ukrainian, Khmelnyskyi, that generate electricity within by 15 power units. As Serhiy Tron says – our country has huge electricity surplus : the total producing  55 GW of the total installed power of electric power plants. Just 20 GW are in active exploitation even with peak electricity consumption.

The reason of this misbalance, as Serhiy Tron notes, is obviously – decreasing  of  the industrial production , which is observed  since 1991.  Therefore, in the beginning of 2021 domestic power  set  a peculiar anti-record: between 1991 and 2021  power generating and consumption decreased  for more than 50% ( fell from 300  to 143 milliards KWh).

Serhiy Tron  notes, that "Energoatom"  should  solve a row of the difficult tasks , which  hav accumulated in nuclear industry  and cased   a raw NPP efficiency. One of the reason -  raw electricity  consumption in Ukraine , cased by decreasing of the nuclear industry; impossibility of selling electricity in the power system ENTSO-E, in the connection with which a sell of the  nuclear power has been blocked for European Union; decreasing investments  for  modernization plants; unmanaged growth of renewable  energy sources ;big part  of nuclear power in total energy balance of Ukraine ( 50% and more) ,  which leads to the overflow f the basic segment of the electric power system.

All this instigated serious consequences for the nuclear power plant. In particular, an increase in the share of renewable energy sources, along with a forced increase in the generation of thermal power plants to ensure daily balancing, against the background of a decrease in consumption, leads to a shift in the share of nuclear power plants from the energy system. nuclear power plants from the energy system.

"Energoatom" claims that the development of industry could save the situation, but admits that this is a long and costly path that requires serious investments and resources.

But using them for cryptocurrency mining is quite  suitable option to  improve the performance of "Energoatom", which could solve the problem of excess electricity generation by Ukrainian nuclear power plants and the lack of effective sales mechanisms. A feature of data centers as consumers of electricity is a significant amount of consumption 24/7/365 with a linear load schedule.

Serhiy Tron  is convinced that the implementation of the power supply scheme for data processing centers directly from nuclear power plants will provide stable and mutually beneficial conditions for cooperation for all parties. For sure, in  this case, nuclear power plants will receive an additional opportunity to sell products with a competitive price with guaranteed and timely settlement; data centers will have a guaranteed and reliable source of power supply; "Energoatom" will have the opportunity to unload the main segment of the market, creating additional opportunities for daily balancing.

In the opinion of businessman, "Energoatom" should pay attention to such an obvious and mutually beneficial opportunity for the sale of electricity at NPP. "Construction and operation of a high-tech, multifunctional data processing center using advanced calculations equipment, with a power by a NPP, makes it possible to implement a project with the highest and fault-tolerant characteristics that have no analogues in Ukraine," Serhiy Tron is sure.
