Klitschko Expecting Lockdown In Kyiv To Last Till December

Kyiv City Mayor / Chairperson of the Kyiv City State Administration, Vitali Klitschko, is expecting the lockdown in Kyiv to last until December.

The press service of the Kyiv City State Administration has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

He said that all depends on the incidence, occupation of beds at hospitals.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the State Emergencies Commission has placed Kyiv among red-zone regions from November 1.

On November 1, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 19,455 over October 31 to 2,955,693, and the number of deaths increased by 700 over October 31 to 68,727; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 39.6%, and the number of new deaths rose 2.3 times.

According to the report, as of the morning of November 1, a total of 2,955,693 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 68,727 deaths; 2,454,737 had recovered.

On November 1, a total of 19,455 new disease cases were recorded, 700 people died, and 12,639 people recovered.

Therefore, as of November 1, the number of newly infected people was higher than that of those who recovered (19,455 vs 12,639).

At the same time, on November 1, a total of 3,188 coronavirus-infected people were hospitalized, up 16.7% over October 31.
