On October 17, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 9,524 over October 16 to 2,644,694, and the number of deaths increased by 177 over October 16 to 60,810; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 15.6%, and the number of new deaths decreased by 19.2%.

This follows from data of the Ministry of Health, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of October 17, a total of 2,644,694 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 60,810 deaths; 2,329,418 had recovered.

On October 17, a total of 9,524 new disease cases were recorded, 177 people died, and 3,421 people recovered.

Therefore, as of October 17, the number of newly infected people was higher than that of those who recovered (9,524 vs 3,421).

At the same time, on October 17, a total of 3,127 coronavirus-infected people were hospitalized, down 66% over October 16.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 16, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 11,288 over October 15 to 2,635,170, and the number of deaths increased by 219 over October 15 to 60,633; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 13%, and the number of new deaths decreased by 20.9%.

On October 15, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 12,983 over October 14 to 2,623,882, and the number of deaths increased by 277 over October 13 to 60,414; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 4.7%, and the number of new deaths increased by 37%.
